Short flax fiber, depending on quality indicators, is divided into five numbers 8, 6, 4, 3, and 2 in accordance with the requirements specified in the table. The fiber length ranges from 10 to 50 cm.
Obtaining
The production of fiber for its further use in textile, engineering, construction or other industries is carried out at primary processing enterprises by kneading on a grinder and scuffing on a scutching machine.
Application
Short flax fiber is used to produce low count yarn using the dry spinning method. Used for the production of bag, container and tarpaulin fabrics. Low-grade short fiber is used for the production of nonwovens, which have very wide applications, and also for the production of paper. Flax fiber is used for the production of twisted products: twine, rope. This fiber is also used to produce cotton fiber and cotton wool. The fiber can be used for plumbing purposes. It is also used as a raw material for the production of fiber-reinforced polymer composites and fiber boards. They are used in the production of a large number of parts (heat and sound insulation) and parts made from plastic compositions for car bodies, aircraft, ships, and carriages.
